vol pic Many thanks indeed to all those who came along to the Market Harborough Methodist Church Family Variety Show on 5th April, which raised about £700 for our organisation. We greatly appreciate the support of Market Harborough Methodist Church in organising this event, kindly donating all proceeds to HSSL.

Our thanks also go to Dorte Kjaerulff Photography for holding a special fundraising Mother's Day event on 29th March in aid of our charity.

All of your fundraising support is much appreciated.

If you would like to raise some funds in aid of Home-Start South Leicestershire, please let us know - we'd love to hear from you

Home-Start South Leicestershire is committed to following the Code of Fundraising Practice by the Institute of Fundraising and in particular the Treating Donors Fairly guidance they produce. The standards set within it outline the behaviour that is expected of fundraisers and form the basis upon which the Fundraising Standards Board can investigate and adjudicate complaints about fundraising practice. Apart from an annual Appeal letter to local organisations, Home-Start South Leicestershire does not engage in other forms of direct marketing to raise funds, nor does it intend to in the near future. The charity does however operate social networking pages on which information on the charity's funding needs, and how to donate is shared to individuals connected to the pages, or to whom the pages are shared. Our charity may receive donations from individuals at any time through on-line, text giving, or other banking services in response to on-line or other marketing and press releases, or through fundraising activities, or by any other means either "in aid of" or "on behalf" of the charity. Consideration of the above Code of Fundraising is made in such circumstances. All marketing activities and appeal materials are overseen and approved by the Scheme Manager, and all fundraising activity is reviewed by the Trustee Board at least quarterly.

Home-Start South Leicestershire has an annual budget of approximately £7,500 for the costs of fundraising. Over 90% of this budget is towards a salaried part time staff member to allocate specific working hours to funding applications, as well as some events and activities fundraising. We do not pay for external professional fundraising services of any kind. Our fundraising costs therefore remain just a little over 5% of our total operating costs.
